Resection of a pedunculated polyp. A patient was referred for resection of a 4-cm polyp that filled the lumen of the sigmoid colon. Upon careful inspection, the polyp was found to have a broad pedicle. Polypectomy was performed by ensnaring the stalk of the polyp and applying pure coagulation current. Bleeding at the polypectomy site was controlled with the application of endoscopic clips.
